AAP/MAAP Designation Program

The University of the Aftermarket offers industry professionals the opportunity to gain recognition of their leadership and strategic business skills through an established professional designation program.

Developed in partnership with AAIA, AWDA, MEMA, and Northwood University, these designation programs are designed to highlight the educational and professional achievements of each recipient and, by extension, demonstrate the resulting competitive advantage for employers and the aftermarket industry.

Professional Designation Requirements

Automotive Aftermarket Professional

The Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) designation is awarded to those in the motor vehicle aftermarket who have demonstrated a dedication to the industry through ongoing professional development. A person holding any job title or function at any type of aftermarket organization is eligible for the designation, as long as they meet the following requirements:

• Completion of three years of professional experience in the motor vehicle aftermarket.
• 12 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) of University of the Aftermarket coursework and/or participation in approved association and/or accredited educational events.
• Completion of a 10-page applied project report using knowledge gained through University of the Aftermarket coursework. Note: Those who have completed either Leadership 2010 or Leadership 2.0 may have their team projects count toward this requirement.

Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional

• Seven years of professional experience in the Automotive Aftermarket industry.
• 24 CEUs of University of the Aftermarket coursework and/or participation in accredited educational events.
• Planning or participating in instruction of a University of the Aftermarket educational program or a University of the Aftermarket accredited program.
• Completion of Leadership 2.0 (previously known as Leadership 2010) or a documented, ongoing aftermarket volunteer commitment (leadership position on an association committee, for example).

Transcript Request

The University of the Aftermarket electronically sends CEU transcripts to every University of the Aftermarket participant on a bi-annual basis. These transcripts are emailed in the late fall, prior to Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week, and in the spring, prior to the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium. If you have not received your transcript, it is likely that your contact information is incorrect. Email uofareg@northwood.edu or call (800) 551-2882 to correct your contact information and a transcript will be sent to you.

Program participants also may request a transcript at any time by emailing a request to: uofareg@northwood.edu.

Program participants may find that their transcript contains errors, which the University of the Aftermarket strives to correct. Any errors on transcripts should be forwarded to: uofareg@northwood.edu.
